Walking with Indigenous People
Over the past many generations, the process of Colonization of this land and of Indigenous people has had a detrimental impact on individuals, families, communities, and Canadian society as a whole.
In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, it it time to learn to walk together, grow together, and create a new reality through relationship and mutual healing. Jennifer has spent the last 10 years of her career creating space for these qualities; relationship and healing, in school. In seeing the transformative impact of Indigenous worldview and practices on people of all backgrounds, she is committed to being part of that walk.
Jennifer can offer 2 very different streams of support for Indigenous populations and the institutions that (hopefully) serve their needs.
BodyTalk can offer incredible supports to Indigenous people in supporting physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and relational wellbeing. It can enhance all levels of one's healing journey, whether they be Traditional, Christian or secular in their perspective.
BodyTalk can offer direct support for issues of intergenerational stress and trauma, and the related, and complex, physiological impacts of such.
Through her life experience with Teachings, Ceremony, her own healing journey, and supporting that of others, Jennifer is able to support Indigenous healing processes, offer perspective to organizations seeking to support Aboriginal people, and be a helpful ally to those Walking the Walk.
